Pick’N Patch is open through October and is located near Cove, at the corner of Booth Lane and Lower Cove Road.

The busy summer season has passed, but there is no shortage of fun and worthwhile activities happening in Wallowa County and throughout the byway over the next few days. From pumpkin patches to Halloween costume parties at favorite watering holes to a lively musical version of The Addams Family, playing at the Elgin Opera House, there’s plenty of variety to fit every interest and age group. Here are some highlights.

Friday, October 27th
OK Theatre Countdown to Centennial Kick-Off Fundraising
6 to 9 p.m. at the Lostine Tavern, 125 Hwy. 82, Lostine, Oregon
Join us for a fun ‘20s themed night of food, drinks, sharing and laughter. Vali’s Alpline Restaurant will be catering this event. There will be small plates, pre-prohibition cocktails and a very special unveiling with Terminal Gravity Brewing! This is our kick-off event in our Countdown to Centennial celebration. The OK Theatre was opened in 1919 so all of our goals for major renovations are aimed at a 2019 Grand re-opening of the OK Theatre and to have it ready for the next 100 years of service to Wallowa County and beyond. Our goal is to raise $56k in matching funds toward the $100k Main St Grant we have already been awarded and $20k toward the SHPO grant we will be applying for this winter.

Range Rider Saloon Halloween Party
8 – 11 p.m., 107 NW 1st ST., Enterprise
Come out in your favorite costume, there will be prizes. Music by Bag of Hammers.

Halloween Costume Party At The Stubborn Mule
9 p.m., 104 S. Main St., Joseph
Dress in your best costume or come as you are and join us for the popular Stubborn Mule Halloween Costume Party! Dance the night away with live music by Wicked Mary! Costume contests and prizes.

Lower Valley Farmers’ Market
11 a.m. – 4 p.m., 301 E. 1st St., Wallowa
Year-round indoor farmers market. Our mission is to increase our community’s access to fresh, local products from local producers and to offer a vibrant social gathering place.

Inland Northwest Orchestra Concert
4 p.m., Enterprise Christian Church, 85035 Joseph Hwy., Enterprise
Music includes “Simple Gifts”, “Concerto in Sol Minore” featuring Jane Bane and Tim Brown on cello, and Symphony no. 101. A reception will follow the concert. Admission is free; donations accepted.

Halloween Costume Party at Terminal Gravity
7 p.m., 803 School St., Enterprise
Come an Join us for our Annual Halloween Party!  There will be music by Simone Tucker. There will be Prizes, Bon Fire, Games and Costume Contest. Paul Cataldo plays music from 7 to 10 p.m.

Sunday, October 28th
Wallowology’s Halloween Party
2 – 6 p.m., Wallowa Lake Lodge, 60060 Wallowa Lake Hwy.
Wallowology’s Family Halloween Party at Wallowa Lake Lodge is a free and fun celebration with games and prizes. Games include  bingo, caramel apples, bobbing for apples, and so much more. Come in costumes! New this year: Haunted House, “Come upstairs if you dare!”  At 5 p.m., there will be a presentation of Creatures of the Night – Moths, Bats, Flying Squirrels, Owls & Spiders by Dr. Karen Antell, EOU. This event is sponsored by Umpqua Bank.

Tuesday, October 31st
Brown Bag Lunch at Josephy Center
Noon, 403 N. Main St., Joseph
Brown Bag is a free event that feature informal presentations and discussions on the first and third or more, Tuesday at noon, each month. This week features Bob Proctor, one of the Encaustic artists in the current show, will talk about his art and encaustic technique.

Good Co At The OK Theatre
November 2, 7:00 pm, 208 W. Main St., Enterprise
Join us for a “classic, yet fresh sound that is part electro, part jazz, part rock n’ roll and part pop.” This six piece band from Seattle is the US’s first live Electro Swing Band. Electro Swing is a new genre that mixes the music of the swing era with the dance music of today. All proceeds benefit the conservation work of Wallowa Land Trust.

From Maxville to Vanport
November 4th, 7 p.m., Josephy Center, 403 N. Main St., Joseph
The Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble is creating a new piece of music inspired by the history of Maxville and Vanport for performances in Wallowa County in April. Join us to hear stories about these towns and an original song from the project. Then share your thoughts in an open discussion about the future of the project. Those with personal ties to descendants of loggers of all ethnicities who worked at Maxville are encouraged to attend, as well as anyone with a particular interest in Oregon history or jazz.

Liberty Grange Presents Harvest Moon
November 4, 6 – 10 p.m., the Liberty Grange, 63748 Liberty Rd., Joseph
The Liberty Grange is having a fundraiser with a dinner and dance. Dinner includes beef, elk or vegetarian stew, homemade sourdough biscuits and berry cobbler. There will be a no-host bar with M. Crow microbrew, and wine. Music will be provided by Matt Harshman Band. Tickets are available at the door.
